Hello all, I would like to know where am I failing?? When I try to connect to the "Chat" I get always the following error:

*** Failed to launch Ident server : access denied (java.net.SocketPermission localhost:113 listen,resolve)
Connecting...
Unable to connect : access denied (java.net.SocketPermission irc.topgamers.net resolve)


Can anyone help me out here? I don't understand far anything about Sockets or so :(

That's the same thing for me, it might be because we haven't a proggy like mirc(because the chat is in fact an irc channel) or else... or maybe you have it ?

If mirc doesnt work for you try linkthis site.
It's a completly webbased irc client and even works behind firewalls and proxies ;)

chrisi, :D this is what I need during the week, because I am behind a proxy and I really thank you much... :)

qwertydawom, the problem is that my pc at home has always worked... with the tbs' chat applet... Just these days it was not running... of course I could use other programs, which I know but I like the applet you know ;)

Just for couriosity: the above mentioned "error"-message is given with IE and trying the same thing with Mozilla the error is as follows:

Startup error : java.lang.Exception: Mandatory 'nick' parameter not provided

Even if I gave the parameters at the Chat-Login :X

It never worked for me, although I found somewhere an irc chat applet that works. Maybe you should find several versions and do a beta-test to see which one is the best :)
