Hello all, I would like to know where am I failing?? When I try to connect to the "Chat" I get always the following error:

*** Failed to launch Ident server : access denied (java.net.SocketPermission localhost:113 listen,resolve)
Connecting...
Unable to connect : access denied (java.net.SocketPermission irc.topgamers.net resolve)

Can anyone help me out here? I don't understand far anything about Sockets or so

That's the same thing for me, it might be because we haven't a proggy like mirc(because the chat is in fact an irc channel) or else... or maybe you have it ?

If mirc doesnt work for you try this site.
It's a completly webbased irc client and even works behind firewalls and proxies

qwertydawom, the problem is that my pc at home has always worked... with the tbs' chat applet... Just these days it was not running... of course I could use other programs, which I know but I like the applet you know

Just for couriosity: the above mentioned "error"-message is given with IE and trying the same thing with Mozilla the error is as follows:

Startup error : java.lang.Exception: Mandatory 'nick' parameter not provided

Even if I gave the parameters at the Chat-Login

Maybe I just remove that java-thingy?

It never worked for me, although I found somewhere an irc chat applet that works. Maybe you should find several versions and do a beta-test to see which one is the best
