i know that this has been tried before, but instead of packing on a huge project (such as the tbs chess that never took off) i was wondering whether the community was interested in creating our own Firefox extension(s). to get started a good resource, for those of you who haven't developed your own extensions yet, can be found here:

- hxxp://roachfiend.com/archives/2004/12/08/how-to-create-firefox-extensions/ (a beginner's guide to writing a hello world extension)
- hxxp://www.borngeek.com/firefox/toolbar-tutorial/ (more advanced toolbar developer's guide)

i found this to be particular blog to be really informative from an extreme beginner's point of view. (hey, we all have to start somewhere) as for the project, my suggestion would be to start with the following possibilities:
- a polycrypt style toolbar
i've found this particular app to be really useful, yet it was rather annoying having to run it in a separate window.

- a SQLi toolbar
just a thought, as the project can start from being really simple (ie [address] [variable] [injection]) to extremely complex

as an afterthought:
- a community is driven and kept alive by it's members
- consequently a community grows because of it's members' word of mouth or what the community has to offer others
- we, the members, have the power to create something that adds value to the community
