Just wanted to say hello to everyone here. I am new to the site. I learned of this site from Hellbound. I am currently trying to gain as much knowledge as possible and meet some cool people along the way. I want to become a pen tester/ethical hacker. Heres a little advice from MM.

I wouldnt spam the forums for help just because you cant solve a challenge in the first few trys. Read tuts and stuff like that.
In my case, I have never asked for hints, but read a shit load of tuts. I reset my 128 solved challenges because I thought I could learn a little more. I did... I learned to do most of the challs by hand. Now that takes a lot of time, but I think you learn alot more doing it that why.

So, just dont act like pvcoung (or whatever his name is) and be smart... learn by doing not asking

On a side note: How do I get an avatar? Do I have to succed to a certain percent per challenge type?

I maybe used the wrong word. I was talking about those smilies which are indicating the progress.

Oh sorry. You need at least a 50% for every category

I guess 3 solved challenges cant count as 50% in any category? Especially when theyre spread out over 3 different categories?
