You can make the list with online users bigger and smaller, but the smallest you can make it is 1 user, you can not make it disappear. I find the refreshing user-list anoying so I want to let it disappear wich is not possible.
And maybe when you can let it disppear it would be an idea also not to let refresh it (i especially don't like that when i'm using proxomitron)

underneath the online-list is a colored area. Via clicking on it you can activate/deactivate the listing. I hope it works the way you want it to.
