just thought it'd be nice if you could have the titlebar update with a simple number when you have new PMs. something like [1] TheBlacksheep at www.bright-shadows.n... (as is the standard with most social networking sites) this would be very helpful if you have it open in a tab whilst you do something else.

i would like that too...but i dont think that the admins care much about the site these days....

They DO care about this site. Imho if they wouldn't I think the site wouldn't be here anymore.

i've already done this. what you forgot is that the url should be http://www.bright-shadows.net/userdata.php?username=[x] where [x] is your username (or anyone else's for that matter). i wrote a script to see when my emails get read. also tried seeing if it read anybody else's, but you need to be logged in to your account to see the "personal" details.

@DA - you seem to miss the point. if you write a little "app" that does the checking - like a php script back in the day that let you add a picture as a signiature - then you can use the "username=[x]" to get your data even if you weren't logged in (as would normally be the case with the servers the script runs on). ah, i miss having bright shadows with pictures...

just because i still want this idea to be implemented. *bump*

EDIT: and maybe even give you the option of getting the pm mailed to your actual email address.
