Hi guys, I have a big problem with my computer here. I can't copy/move any files. Meaning if I move a file, it looks like everything worked fine but in fact I can't open the moved file. It just shows access errors. I can see it's name and correct size in the folder, but accessing it is impossible. Not with any application. Meanwhile I have a lot of these "ghost"-files laying around here. It's really bad also because I even can't delete them. Does anyone have an idea where this comes from and what to do against it? Bye, Erik |

Hi, it differs since the message comes from the application I want to open the file with. They are always saying that they could not acces the file. bye, Erik |

Jo Erik, iam niot sure what hapened but maybe just the permissions are f*ck up. you can choose the whole C: Drive (or which drive ever), then first take the ownership AND 2nd set permissions to full access for everyone, AND activating inherit right to subfolder. This way all permissions for the drive letter will be re-written...which will take some time. If it dont work you can make sure its not a permission problem, dont ask me why but same happened to me on seom W2K Adv. Server which only let SYSTEM read file in some folders, although one day ago everyone could access these files Maybe you got hacked and all rights from admins are revoked (not nice but i do it sometimes myself on some distros)... Maybe this helps ray |
