Well, as far as the frames go, I think that they could be scrapped as well. But, the only flaw with getting rid of the frames would be more difficult navigation. I have a feeling that scrapping the menu frame would make finding your way through the site more challenging. At least it would for me. Any ideas?

Hi,

what's so bad about frames anyway?

- they don't work well with tabbed browsing. when you "open in tab" you only get the subframe ... which obligates you to return to the original page.
- they make documents harder to print
- not all browsers support them properly, in this day and age you should think about the mobile devices, which will have trouble with them.
- search engines index the wrong links, which makes casual visitors only see a part of the site where otherwise they might stay longer.
- they tend to give websites an aged look, because it's almost never used anymore (at least for the core of a website.)

Non of these are absolute truths ... but since div and span work really well and don't have those shortcomings...

I don't have anything against frames personally, but like I said, if I had the TIME and power, that's something i would change,
to fix those small downsides to frames.

I'm not usually a fan of fixing things that are not broken though ... So i won't be nagging about it ;)

My main problem with frames is the load speed. It takes forever to load this site sometimes because of the frames. I have another complaint though. It's not dealing with frames though. Sometimes when I'm logged on, the site will completely freeze up. I cant load anything, and I can only fix this by clearing all of my private data and logging back on. That annoys me to no end. I wouldn't mind at least knowing what that's about.

That is very true. I wonder if there is anyway to speed that up without changing the looks of it too much and make it look like or still have the frames.

Weren't frames in the first place used to "unload" the load? This means the menu doesn't need to be updated every time you click a new link. :/ Could be incredibly wrong though :), maybe the amount of http request by using frames is too much for your browser/internet connection to handle.

I never thought of that Inferno, but seeing as I'm at school, there isn't really all that much that I can do to speed up the computers or the connection. But you make a good point.
