Oi there mates, After alot of thought of this and after reading the replies to this topic and that of "s4dd's" i think that cryptography challenges should be split into different sections i quote that of which rayden5 and s4dd both stated that "it would help to really split them in to kinds basic, and wellknow crypto-systems and then a 2nd division where individual cryptos may be posted" inaddtion to the fact that in overall challenges something such as beta testing is needed to provide support to a certain challenge, frankly not all of the challenges are quite that good and some of them need more elaboration *i know i need such* any way hopefully 'TBS' will go through such a change in the challenge system as a whole and again best of luck. |

yes i think the whole voting thing would be nice as long as itss et up where the only ones who solved it get to vote...if they find you can only use one prog that is hard to find or something then yeah they can vote against it..so im my opinion s4dd has a good idea |

The voting system it self should be limited to the beta testers, i mean the beta testers should be people voted by other users to test the challenges before activating them and on their role the beta testers should vote for the challenge to stay or go though its getting more and more political but i am sure its for the best *afaik*. |

the idea with the testers is pretty good. if we can figure out how it should work you have my vote. there are really so many cryptos and we get almost every day new ones. |

Well in my opinion here is the main idea: 1- Creat a voting system to select beta testers. 2- Give the beta testers access to new challenges along with a period of time for each challenge knowing that the person who submits the challenge should state aproximatly the time his challenge might consume. 3- After excesive testing the challenges another voting system is created to determine if the challenge stays to be activated or not knowing that after activating the challenge is stays no matter what since it was aproved by the latter jury . 4- Finally you would have a healthy challenge system that everybody aproves =). |

now the problem with that is this...look at crypto 45...im sure its a simple crypto like all his are but its so simple its hard....what if these beta testers cant get it and vote it out even though its a good challenge...what they are pretty much voting on is the difficulty of the challenge...so if its too hard they wont vote for it. so this system although sounding good can be full of flaws...so maybe the first 5 people to solve this challenge would be the beta testers for the challenge |

Well a challenge can't be voted like that, the voting system is self must have some properties for instant beta testers are not only limited to solving the challenge, but they have also the privilage to do some assesment on the challenge in such a way that it might lack elaboration or the challenge it self is too hard, afain the testers are selected by he users so get rid of the _BIG_ problem minor issues should be sacrifised. |

what about that: a crypto challenge gets uploaded as a beta challenge. the first 5 who solve it write their opinion about it. if no one solves it for a long time it just stays in beta challenges until 5 solved it. |

tbs: good idea! it's not cool to discard a challenge if it's too much difficult, so create a "beta section" could be the best chance |
