The ranks dont bother me as far as the cheating goes. What does bother me is that the authors of challenges put in a lot of time and effort to create hopefully and interesting and enjoyable challenge.
If just a single trader/cheater gets the password for one of these challenges then all the effort was a simple waste.

yes,as you say, this is a motivation.....the ranking (and smileys) are the motivations of cheaters/traders. Other motivation is to obtain @ , % or + in #tbs. All related with the ranking...
So, in my opinion, remove the ranking is the best thing to do.

I think removing the ranking would be a great shame. It certainly motivates me to continue learning and improving my skills. I have introduced a few people I know to this site, and a little healthy competition does nobody any harm.

Its great fun solving the challenges and I think the ranking system helps to make this the best challenge site available.

hmmm yes, I like the ranking system too.
Also because getting rid of it wouldn't solve the problem.
I send a pm asking "have you done challenge xxx?" and the other tells me yes, so I start asking solutions and the problem is not solved.
Probably the best thing to do is just to drop a pm if the sender wants a solution or to trade and this should be done by everybody, but when there are 2 people who want to cheat, they will cheat, you can't do anything to that. It's just to send a pm asking if someone has done the challenge you want to trade.
I have some friends on this site too and the competition is funny with them.

I am already working on a list of cheaters. Some are pretty high ranked. I just have to think of what I am going to do with them. The good thing is if you find one cheater you already have many more.
I am thinking about deleting all user which trade solutions (not hints).

After just 5 minutes of scanning some information I have found out that at least 4 user in the top13 asked for solutions and gave solutions away. Stop it. I am not kidding. I am going to delete those account.

Seems like you deleted them cos i've gained 3 in ranking without solving anything?

I haven't deleted them but some user left.

Honest people droping this awsome challenge site because of cheaters?
Come on... punish the cheators we don't want hontes people to leave the site, else in some months there will be just cheaters and idle members that have not droped their accounts yet !
