I was watching this thread for a while I must say: A lot of honest words; lot's of truth behind it ... why did all the long timers left .... cause they learned & advanced. Most of those folks moved away completely from "chall-sites" completely. No disrespect to TBS and their efforts (hey, did I ever thanked you folks for your efforts and $$$ you put behind TBS? if not, tanks a trillion - greatly appreciated), it's just as well that those folks get older, mature, get jobs, raise families, have children (congratz Hive, Phas, ...) . From all the people I had the pleasure to meet during my days, only 2 are active any longer - and it was over a time of nearly 15 months of learning and teaching each others. The rest of the countless folks moved to (sorry for the wording) grown-up-stuff: coding their sites (secure), coding in asm / perl / c / .... , ..... I personally had a dream: provide ongoing learning - but as the friends from TBS has shown (thanks Inferno & t.b.s) - you can provide as many learning steps (in form of challenges) as you want - if the culture isn't going to eat & gulp & learn it - it's pretty much wasted. rhican, caesum, THM, chrisi, rayden55, harlequin .... thanks for the fun & thrill .......(plus countless others) It was fun while it lasted. And all others - teach, help, educate, learn, get your own community going + growing plus merge with others ....... and stop complaining that the "elders" aren't around to help you over the street. Regards, relee |
