well, playing MicroMachines V3 with my friends one day and I was Fabriz. So one of my friends called Rezz put on his nick a Super Rezz in order to win every rage (we are 26, 27 and 28 years old but our brain is still at 4...). So every other challenge me included put a s in front of his nick because Super was too long, in order not to be less then super rezz, and I become sfabriz, which means super fabriz, but just for micromachines... ahahahahaha cya guys! sfabriz |

LMAO that's an "interesting" way to get a nick. Well atleast ur nick isn't something like sjigglypuff or spinklittlebunnies or something like that. that would be an awkward story to tell. |

rayden5 |
Well rayden5 ...initially i choose this because I like Mortal Combat..i played it alot and especially as lord raiden..so i choosed rayden as nick..problem was that on many sites and boards this nick was already in use so i added a number rayden1, rayden etc...but this was not satisfying i wanted a unique nick and so i started using raxyden5 and so far rayden5 wasn in use anywhere Ray |

Phas(retired) |
Well, after 2 years I'll answer this post and tell the story of my nick: I must admit that it doesn't have any meaning. I didn't have a nick to register on this site so I tried to invent one but it wasn't that easy, everything was already registered. The (stupid) names that came to my mind were registered, so I decided to create a random one: My first try was to make a random name, so I decided that my nick would be: "THE ASCII SUM IN HEX OF THE LETTERS ON THIS TEXT"... Would that nick be also registered? The sum of the letters is 3246 in decimal, or 0xCAE in hex so that text has a CAE-SUM looool That nick was registered too, so I started to hit the keyboard randomly and make my nick with the first and shortest readable part of what I wrote, and that was "Phas". ... well, you know that story isn't true... I changed it a bit to make it more interesting... the truth is when I hit the keyboard randomly I wrote "quangntenemy" before Phas, but I thought that was a very ugly word for a nick name Phas(retired) |

Plasmator |
Well I'm definitely not going to wait 2 yrs to tell this story. 8 months will do .. I tried to register my real name (Phas) and I was quite supprised to find someone else was already using it. Damm I was already #1 Anyways, I didn't like that name too much with it being so short I wasn't getting much tang. So I chose something a bit longer and cooler , then the tang followed The truth, when I started at Crackmes.de I wanted something which was appropriate at the time. So I chose Plasmator , which is latin for "The KeyMaker". I just continued using it at other sites and here I am today. |

Well done Phas! Never thought anyone would manage to crack the hash I left for them in my nick! Actually, there are several sets of aliens running the top ranks, with the power of telepathy and combining the powers of several minds. Originally we were going to call ourselves TheHiveMind, but it seems someone had already taken that nick, so we had to come up with something else. Caesum=cartel of alien entities solving unusual mysteries |

To get back to (at least semi-serious) responses: A few years ago, I was just getting into challenge sites; as with some of the people above, I wasn't clever enough to come up with something, uh, clever. I stared at the prompt at one site (I forget which, now) for a while, and thought, "Great. Now I need to come up with yet another ID. ...heh, how about 'yetanotherid'?" I tried it... and it was taken. I shortened it to 'yai', but the site wanted a longer username. It was 2003 at the time; You figure out the rest. |
