Story lines seems like a good idea, i wonder about what you said for users with webspaces?

hmmm... seems like i at least started some discussion! Some ppl like the "beta" stage for a chall... and others do not.

I think the most important thing to acknowledge is that there are too many challs being subbmitted and perhaps some deserve a place over others.... If this is somthing that is agreed on, then perhaps a new discussion on implementation should be started. Lets just keep focused on what we want to happen to start with... worry with implementation afterwards

I posted some stuff about Javascripts, since there are some new ideas about real hacking stuff. U all know the JavaScripts which are encrypted in *any* way. However. Sometimes just escaped next time real encoded with a one way algho. I would like to see such encoded Scripts, which a not to hard password (for the case we have to bruteforce it) and then try to hack these "secure" Pages I know off about 5-6 "Protectors" which will encrypt your Page.

the idea with buffer overflows and source code of programs you have to exploit sound prett good. the only problem is that I have no idea of these things. at the moment i can think of something like:

-a group of 2 or 3 people for every challenge group (exploit, javascript, programming,...)
-new challenges have to be send to these people which get the right to upload the challenge when they think it is new and creative.

If someone wants to create challenges like buffer overflow ones please go ahead!!! we would really like to have some of these.

I could manage something about buffer and format overflows, i think. But I need more ppl...

hmm maybe i dont get the point here, but how would soemone CREATE a BufferOverlfow Challenge ? BO is i know of are system sided OS holes which are being exploiteted. So this means you have to run a server with lets Say W2k dont patch it and let ppl hack it Or same for Linux, freeBSD etc...maybe i understand this wrong ?!
