I think the problem with avatars and graphic signatures is that it takes too much space and way too much time to load the page.

An avatar shouldn't be more than 96*96 and less than 20 KB...

Paralax, your avatar is 162 KB !!!! Immagine If everyone do the same, then tha page would be 3 MB !!!

I totally agree with GO7...since avaters are allowed everything is moving here at the forum..thats to !"§$%...If you need to use your avatars then please dont use a GIF animation of 1.5 MB , just use a single GIF Picture...

I don't think size is a problem. Once it is downloaded once, it stays cached on your machine and isn't redownloaded. Do large graphics slow down your browser? I use mozilla firefox on a Pentium III 666, with 384 RAM and it works just fine.

paralax: for starters its not such a good thing to use animated avatars due to the distraction factor, and also yur avatar and sig are pretty much the same thing ......... can you say overkill?
