Does anybody of you know a way to play at playray.com if you are behind a http proxy?
I tried using httptunnel but for some strange reason it didn't work :(
Any help would be welcome :)

Thx in advance

I have exactly the same problem. I know that our admin doesn't allow us to use other protocols; just http!!! Neither I can play at playray during the week and this is very sad :(.
There is also something with sockets... Our admin disabled the sockets afaik.
Solutions are welcome :D

The problem is not the filtering of the proxy but that playray requires connections to ports above 5000.
But anyway thanks for your replies :)

I found a solution :)

For this one you need a computer outside the network and following programs:
linkHTTHost + HTTPort
linkFreecap

  1. Install htthost on the computer outside the network and run it. It should fine work with the default settings.
  2. Install httport on the computer behind the proxy and use the "Remote Host" option to connect to the outside computer. Also enable the socks 4 proxy and maybe set up other port bindings.
  3. Install Freecap and set the proxy to 127.0.0.1:1080.
  4. Add your browser to the apps and run it. Now every connection established by the browser (and all the applets :D) should go through your local socks proxy and the tunneled connection

I've successfully tested the above in windows using opera.
Using IE I had the problem that it didnt load the menu and firefox didnt work anyway

If you find another solution (especially for linux ;)) please tell me
greets chrisi
