The story: Some American universities offered to apply online. Someone found out that if you take your application ID, you can see if they have accepted you or not by opening a certain web site. Harvard-University Stanford Graduate School of Business Massachusetts Institute of Technology ... Now everyone who did that got rejected. WhatTheFuck!?!?!?!?!?! If someone calls himself elite university it is pretty stupid and arogant to blame the ones that opened the web site and not the ones that were not able to create a secure web application. Today you don't even have to "hack". Maybe I should get rid of my address bar or I might end up in an American jail What is your opinion about that? tbs |

I did apply to these universities. When I heard about the hack, something sounded fishy, so I didn't check it. I'm really glad that I didn't because otherwise I wouldn't have a place to go to school next year. Anyways, my opinion on this matter is that .. I don't really know.. They rationalized it as "These type of people arn't honest". Now, it really depends on the situation on how I judege them, if they are busnessmen into some shady practises, lying to everyone, and being unfair to other people, then I really don't like these people. Or, if they are online "white hat" hackers, then I approve of their actions because they are for personal enjoyment / securing systems, and not for malicious intent. So, to sum it up, I really don't respect cheaters, and that is the reason I didn't check my acceptance, but I think it is unfair to deny these people admission. They should bre repremanded but only to teach them a lesson. My $.02 |
