I'm really sorry (I feel like such an idiot) - I can't get into the chat room. I have never actually used programs like IRC (I've tried AIM once) and I have no idea as to why it won't let me in. I keep getting:

*** Failed to launch Ident server : access denied (java.net.SocketPermission localhost:113 listen,resolve)
Connecting...
Unable to connect : access denied (java.net.SocketPermission irc.topgamers.net resolve)

Could anyone please help me?

I think that many people have the same problem (I do). I am not sure why, but it is nothing to do with you, so you are not an idiot

I had to download a different IRC client. I use mIRC. Maybe you could try that.

I think you guys better check for a ident settings in your IRC Client. For example in mirc options Connect/Ident and check Enable ident server port 113

A java policy has to be changed something like this:

JRE-directory->lib->security->java.policy

try it again after adding these lines to the socket permissions:

permission java.net.SocketPermission "localhost:113-", "listen";
permission java.net.SocketPermission "localhost:113-", "resolve";

i am not sure if it will work than but try it!

Hi everyone I think im the most idiotic user on this site , well let me start by this, i have tried the challenge and have not even got 1 point, I have tried the password challenge and I cant get past that I used root user for unix and admin for windows username but still nothing, anuone here who can point me in the right direction?? I dont need the answer but i need a point in the right direction,

Nope, it didn't work for me either. I just use MIRC also, but i remember so many people made virus's that work through that so i tend not to go on the chat room

I am using chatZilla (which cames with Mozilla suite) and works fine.
