It's terrible! So many users apparently seem to not know how to create meaningful topic titles. I think people that create crappy topic titles should be sniped with a kalashnikov! BaRa agrees with me, although he says they should be sniped with a rusty fork, but I'm sure we can agree on something. Seriously, I think we need a sticky about giving meaningful names to topics... "Just a n00b question", "my Question", "Where do I start?", "Forum Question", "Beginner Q", "Hey", "need help?", "Help!!!!" - if you made any of these topics, you should be deeply ashamed of yourself! Especially if you want help or advice on something, for crying out loud, the least you can do is give your topic a meaningful name! This will also greatly increase the odds that people will read your topic and help you with your problem. Also, another major annoyance is people that ask questions without even doing a little research themselves. Please, use google first! If, after doing some research yourself first, you still haven't found the answer you're looking for, think your question through a bit! Use proper english and paragraphs also greatly improve the readability of your post. When your posts often get ignored, or you don't get the answers you're looking for, maybe you should ask better questions. If you think this might apply to you, please take a look at http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html Regards, unstable |

i've sinned... for my topic labeled "HELP!!!!" i am deeply, truly sorry, but believe me, i really panicked at that stage and didn't think properly. sorry for causing unneccesary stress, but thank you to those who helped me. in rhetrospect i should have labeled it "Soyware is strangling my PC" or something like that. please, i implore you, don't waste a bullet on me - the rusty pitchfork is (at least) re-usable - make it count... |

I'm glad you've seen the error of your ways. I see just minutes after reading my post, you created a topic with a meaningful name. It warms my heart to see you applied these new insights immediately . So, no more topic titles like i've got a bit of a problem..., G*D DAMMIT!, hold on..., Help!!!!, is it just me... or something... from now on! Regards, unstable |
