Recently i notice alot of ppls solving hard challenges in some categories
without even solving the easier challenges first???
Ex. All The Strings Crackit 52

80% of the solvers of that challenge didnt even solve any of the other crackits...
how can someone solve this crackit and not any of the others?
Someone been giving out solutions???

Honestly i think tbs needs a stricter policy regarding cheating

You can't check every video uploaded to youtube or every webpage to avoid cheating.
If people need to cheat, just let them. They lose the fun of solving it by themselves.

Websites like this are for learning and sharing knowledge, unfortunatelly theres people who only want you to believe they are "better" or simply the best, because of the "ranking". But thats ok if it doesnt affects you.

Some users could have been easily tricked by a CSRF, since the solutions are submitted with GET. Just examining all the possibilities...

People have been complaining about cheaters since the very beginning (2003-2004). Fighting them would require either an automated detection system or manual intervention; either way lots of work for little results, plus the false positives. And the fact Erik only connects once in a while, the other admins being "missing in action".
I think ch0wch0w's attitude is the right one. Enjoy what the site offers to you, and ignore the black sh... err, the bad apples

in a perfect world, i guess the answers could be created at random. i do believe that this would be a bit more difficult with crackits as you'd have to edit the binary files first, however a simple c compiler from source would work (a have to reiterate that this is merely speculation at this point). otherwise, you could look at the uk government ant tkae pointers from the (ie tracking pms and seeing who's trading) but that too would pose the problem of people sharing via email.

but it has to be said that for a site that's not had a majour update since before i joined back in the day, 1999 or 2000 i think it was, it's still running pretty damn well, save for the rhican incident where he was on a rampage to prove that "nothing is safe". so yes, like ch0wch0w said, enjoy it for what it is, and see whether you can beat the titans like phas.
