Id like to know what you guys use and how you like it, ranging from zip password crackers, to packet sniffers, or anything relating to this site.

for hex editors I like Ultra Edit, the only thing it doesnt have is a mem dump feature, which I use WinHex for.

WPE PRO is a good packet sniffer, since instead of proxomitron I made my own winsock client that reformats packet dumps to sendable again. Though Id like a packet sniffer that would dump whole port traffic, WPE PRO is very nice for the exclusivity of being able to select the process you want it to monitor for packet traffic.

been playing with OllyDebug, even though its way over my head so far. I heard SoftICE is good too but I havnt been able to get a download of that, I dont think its free

recently added DJ Java Decomplier to my list of utilities, havnt really used it yet but I'm itching to.

John the Ripper I use occasionally, with a name like that who couldnt? Though I wish it was windows based, for ease of use.

Havnt really found a good .rar or .zip password cracker that isnt free yet, but from what I can tell of the trial "Visual Zip Password Recovery" seems like a full featured cracker.

so thats what I use, even though I'm not a real pro yet, I'm working on widdling down those challanges quite tough as they are!

For zip-cracking i use "PicoZip Recovery Tool", it´s quite simple to use, and one can choose how to crack, by dictionary attack or bruteforcing.

what have the people used, that did the sound steganos? i only did one, and used cool edit for that...

um im not sure what its called but search the stegano forum for a program...um i think s4dd says what he used for them so look around there for it
