Well based on my previous topic 'A hacker view' in the last sentence it reminded me about some view on the history of people.

Like 2500 years ago people belived in 10 gods based on nature signs though they never met one. 2000 years ago they started to belive in only one god, and started to explain the science effects of the nature which made the belief in gods drop.

Whats your vision of the future over 1000-2000 years of the mankind and earth. Do you think we gonna belive in a god or think of ourselfs as gods, or nothing will change, or will all become robots or stuff like that.

Have you read something from William Gibson? Cyberpunk literature, the story placed in the near future, and writed in some way that let your imagination fly. I suggest you hardly to read Neuromancer or Count Zero (the second part of neuromancer). Biochips placed in the brain, trainers using connectors in the skin (yes, matrix didn't create it) and lots of cool stuff. Simply great

I definately agree with redspike. I believe science is already doing away with "gods" and "mysterious forces". I have always told my friends this, but everyone just seems to ignore that thought. It's cool to see that other people think the same as well.

Well, getting back to the topic, think of how better life would be if science would do away with all of our "gods". There would be no need for war over stupid reasons like religion. Are people in general so ignorant that we had to make up alternate "forces" to explain our universe and do justice to it's complexities? To me, religion is just a bunch of crap made up by some guy living by himself hoping for a better life. That's all it really is nowadays, just "have faith" and you shall go on to a better afterlife. Who's to say when life really ends? What happens when we die? If I were to die right now without repenting for my "sins" would I really be sent to that 'evil' place called Hell? Who the HELL knows? What if our "souls" are really just transported somewhere else in the universe? There are just too many unknown factors. Once we find a way to find the answers to what we have yet to know, we shall all know what is truly right. I think a lot of people realize what I just said, yet they are just too afraid to think about it. They don't wanna admit that their whole life has been wasted working for the one they call "God". I just think that people should find something else better to do with their time. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way.......am I right?

Before i begin my discussion on this topic i would first like to start off by saying I DONT HAVE A RELIGION. i dont believe in a god or any imortal omnipresent being or higher power. I think science has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that no such being exists. If you look back towards ancient civilaztions GODS WERE CREATED BY PEOPLSE IMAGINATION (MAN MADE GOD NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND) becuase some of them iq's of children and just didnt have the technology to learn proccess behind why volcanoes urupt or earthquakes manifest. so they turnd to there imagination as there last resort.

My government (america for me) is mind fucking its citizens into growing up christian and worshipping god. in the constitution it says there not aloud to but what do. but what do little kids do when you tell them not to touch? .... but lets face it, it is the national motto, and is printed on just about all american currency. here in america and probly the world christianity is probly the biggest spoon fed religion ever. when i say spoon fed i mean you get mentaly bleached with christianity in yur brain wether it be from parents, missionaries, or friends.

There would be so much less wars if religion was just eradicated from earth 100%!!! for example you have the taliban. the terrorist orginazition stating that it is there religion to kill americans and other certain nationalities!! its just not right!
