Hmmm I'm not sure exactly where I stand on this idea. It seems nice, but I would have to see it in action for a few weeks first, then I would post my opinion on it. Many times, people rush in and give their opinion without knowing the facts, the full advantages/disadvantages on stuff like this, and well, to pass a balanced judgement, yes, i would have to see it in action. It seems like you really thought this out though relee. Props for that :). Thanks.

Well, I don't think it's such a good idea. It requires a lot of work and it is not easy to find people to do that work.
In the other way, I think that the credit system should consider that not all challs in the same category should give the same credits. As an example we have in the Special category two challs (and many more, of course) that for me are interesting to solve, "Polyglot" and "Contact Solver"*, but the first is much more difficult and requiers more knowledge than "Contact Solver", so, it should give more credits.

That is my opinion.

Hi,

which aspects should be voted? Only the challenge in general or different views like difficulty, creativity, time needed, ... and in which way all these values should be used for?

Cu, Erik :-)

I think there is no real need to chance anything.

When a new challange is hosted it could be voted
until its moved into its final categorie.
The voting could be about
1. categorie
2. how do i like it (idea; look; etc)
3. difficulty ... in my opinion the number of solvers is the best indicator.
while voting is in progress (for new challs) this field would be the difficult indicator...
The "time spent" could be a good value for difficult.
You could use the user score too.
TotalTimeSpent = UserScore * UserTimeSpent;

About credits and score:
again..there is no need to change that !
but i could imagine something like this,
when solved a challenge:
Score += UsersTotal - UsersSolvedChallenge;

but how to get the time a user needed to solve it? for exmaple i often d/l some challs and first try them weeks or months later.

But I think the most times you know how many time you have been working on a chall... not real time, i know, but i think i always know if i have been working lots of hours of only a few minutes... i think that's not difficult to answer

I got an idea, based on people ranking the challenge after its been solved a few times. Then give people poitns based on how hard or easy that challenge was to help balance it so its not about how many you solved but how difficult each was :)
