I use Unlocker for this. It also works on folders, and can give a list of locked files/folders within a folder recursively. |

looks like a nice tool, thanks . Edit: It says (when first started) that EXPLORER.EXE was locking it. I told it to unlock and then delete it, it says it deleted successfully but its still there with the same problem. I tried killing the process and deleting through command but still no luck. I've tried moving and renaming the folder and it comes up with an error. This is how it happened: I opened a website and went to "save as" saved it to my USB and tried to open it on Win98, it came up with a load of boxes on most of the pages and on the few that came up *near enough* correctly it didn't display the css. Anyways i tried to delete it then and it came up with the error, i tried moving it but it wouldn't let me move it. to Win98. |

Why don't you reboot with a caldera or a win98 bootdisk and delete it in dos? Note that those disks don't support NTFS. http://1gighost.net/keywest/boot98c.exe Greetz BaRa PS: maybe posting a hijackthis-log here could also help us help you. |

hei sniperkid about your problem windows doens't really delete you files he only marks the data dirty time to time it will erase that data by the way you could create a program in assembler for erasing that sector of the disk but it seems better to get a toll as you will probably have to code your own routinefor NTFS interpreter or FAT32 well this only a explanation... PS Is because of this that you can recuperate your files even after delete it or almost the files some get corrupted... Rayden |
