the article/book on reverse engineering is pretty decent, there a few things that aren't as fleshed out as they could be. For example packed executables is only touched on very lightly, and you sometimes have to read between the lines a bit. For example the book mentions a lot of tools, but not a single pe-file identifier. like PEID is mentioned. and it doesn't mention other advanced things for example on how to recognise c++ class virtual tables and other structures. But all in all it's a must read, if you just can't seem to get any of the non trivial challenges. You can even skip all the linux stuff for that ![]() nice list moose |
