I am in web programming, but I want to learn either Perl or PHP. I know I can download all I need from php.net for PHP programming, but I am interested which language is easier to use and which is more functional (less time - better results) etc.

if you want to do web programming I suggest you php because it's made for the web and it's a very good language, expecially if used together with mysql.

Both langs are good but I recommend you PHP and then when you know it a little bit then learn Perl because it's so powerful.

i dont know perl but php is quite easy to learn if you know c++
