There are occasions where I cannot use an IRC client on a computer, school for instance. I was just wondering when the dam chat client was going to be fixed for the site. It has never once worked for me, and I have tried it from at least 5 different computers, not to mention others I know who have never been able to use it. |

open: JRE-directory -> lib -> security -> java.policy the permission are pretty much on top of the file and they look kinda like this: // allows anyone to listen on un-privileged ports permission java.net.SocketPermission ...; permission java.net.SocketPermission ...; if you add those lines: permission java.net.SocketPermission "*:80-", "connect"; permission java.net.SocketPermission "localhost:1024-", "listen"; it should work. you might have to delete the lines that have been there before. so backup the file first and try it. tbs |

Hi kryptor, I never used kopete or chatzilla, but I suggest trying a pure IRC client. For Linux, irssi and BitchX are the most popular clients. They're both text-based clients though. If you prefer a GUI IRC client, you might wanna check out XChat. If you want to see more options, take a look at http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Software/Internet/Clients/Chat/IRC/ |
