Hey I'm new to Java programming ... I'm doing a Java IRC Bot and i'm haveing a little trouble with Java Sockets. I've read a bunch of tutorials and papers on the subject. However i just dont understand how exactly i would do this. My plans are to make my bot act as the server and a php document act as the client so that it can send information to it that will be displayed in the channel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need to see my code i'd be glad to email u my java file to let you see exactly what i'm trying to do.

What problems do you run into? Policy problems? Lack of Java knowledge? Unfamilar with implementing protocol?
