I decided today that I would post my opinion about steganos. Now, I don't want to step on any toes here (BaRa), but I feel that steganos don't serve much of a purpose to learn. In any real life situation, I would never use a stegano to hide a message. However, since they are here, I would like to learn how to solve them. So, I was wondering if there was any website with a good stegano tut. At current, there is no such thing on tbs. And for a newb to come in and get more than a couple of steganos solved is extremly difficult. I would appreciate any help with this, and BaRa, please don' t send me hate mail here. |

You're just biased against steganography (and BaRa). Look at crypto - will you be given a bunch of text and be told "here, go solve it"? Obviously not! While crypto tests your analysis skills, steganos test your creativity AND analysis skills (to a certain extent at least). The challenges are not as hard as you think they are. Well, at least most of them aren't. I personally like BaRa steganos, although I'm definitely not a stegano person (i.e. I can't do stegano for nuts). They're presented with so more style and creativity that it becomes fun to solve them (or even just to know how they can be solved). Of course it's frustrating when you can't find a starting point, but once you get it, it's enjoyable. I'm sure most people who solve BaRa steganos will agree with me on that point. Come on. You're just not putting in enough effort. Either that or you just can't think out of the box enough. Just try and try and try and maybe one day you'll be more comfortable with them. |

I'm not saying I hate them. I merely stated that I didnt think they had few real world applications. And I do agree that I don't know nearly enough about the challenge section in general, and btw I have nothing against BaRa. But for cryptology there are thousands of tutorials online. I cant seem to find a good one for Stegano's because of the fact that they are so creative. And I have been trying to learn some of the basics of the challenge type, I would just like to be pushed in the right direction for a tut or something. No hate or anger intended for anything here. |

So somehow you could see it as an anti flame... Infact perhaps i'm the rescuer of the universe .. perhaps _I AM_ 42 |
