Hi,
two weeks ago my english teacher said somethink like "well, I would like to let you hear some dialects of the english language, but I'm sorry, I can't speak dialects".
So I told her of bright-shadows and, perhaps, they would help me to create a cd with dialects.
Today she told me three sentences that should show the differences between these dialects.

If you want to help me, just upload a mp3-file (or any other audio file, but for me mp3 is the best one), with the following content (and please pronounce everythink like you would say it to a friend, so no school pronounciation ... I guess if english is you foreign language it makes no difference):

only say you region if you life in Great Britain/ USA / Australia

[country [+ region]], [native speaker / x years english lessons [and y years living in Great Britain/USA/Australia/Canada]]
Last year I plantet three tall trees.
What's the new love letter about?
The boxer denied doing a new advertisement for milk.

example:
QuoteQuote from a:

ireland, native speaker
Last year I plantet three tall trees.
What's the new love letter about?
The boxer denied doing a new advertisement for milk.

QuoteQuote from b:

usa, texas, native speaker
Last year I plantet three tall trees.
What's the new love letter about?
The boxer denied doing a new advertisement for milk.

QuoteQuote from c:

Vietnam, 8 years english lessons and 2 years in the usa
Last year I plantet three tall trees.
What's the new love letter about?
The boxer denied doing a new advertisement for milk.

I hope its all clear now
if anyone has no webspace to upload ~300 Kb I would be surprised, but I can create a little site for you ... just pm me / post in this topic

so here is my file (please listen to it after you made your file - I don't want you to be influenced): linkhttp://www.blackpanter.net/english/germany.mp3

edit:
You can also let a friend / your girlfriend speak if you think she has a better voice ... and I will not give this file to any other person. Only the pupils in my class will listen to this cd.
You can PM me the url of the file and I'll send you a PM back as soon as I downloaded it (so that you can remove it)

I hope you all send me one :D

I'm sure you're teacher would be happier when you write:
pronunciation
something
everything
English
planted

;-) I'll spare you my voice though, due to the lack of recording devices. Furthermore I don't speak a dialect, I speak with an accent.

@Silkut: Thank you very much for your French contribution
@rhican: I got these sentences from my teacher (she thought which would be the best one and after two weeks she gave me these 3 sentences)

Well, I think she wants both^^ And as every mp3 file will have less than 300 kb and a cd has 700 mb+
I can record at least 2333 files :D so please send me one

edit:
@rhican: I guess you have speakers. So you can try to record your voice through them ... should be a worse quallity, but it should work :D

richan was saying there are no English dialects, only accents. a dialect is like another language entirely where an accent is just another way to say the same things.

I just want your voice ... I don't know if its called accent or dialect, but I know what my teacher wants ... she wants many people form many different countries speaking these little three lines.

No, you misunderstood that.
An accent refers to a different method of pronunciation of words. A dialect encompasses the accent (or it may not), different vocabulary and different grammar.

@moose:
Unless your English teacher wants to hear different ways of expressing the same sentences, she clearly wants to hear different accents.

Due to my innate laziness, I am unable to pick up the microphone right now. Perhaps I'll send you a file when I actually manage to.

And by the way, a speaker is an output device. You cannot use it as an input device to record sounds. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudspeaker for more information.
