Hello, since maybe half an hour or so I have problems from time to time with viewing the site. Often images aren't loaded or whole sites are displayed totally distorted. Is it just me or do you have these errors too? bye, Erik |

Hello TheBlacksheep got a mail from our provider telling we would put to much load on the server. Last month the total traffic was about 8 GB. But I can't understand these people. We had been searching a webspace-provider for a very long time because almost everyone we found limited traffic etc. But our current had (and still has) nice advertisement for this offer telling that "all the traffic is included" etc. No word about any limitations. And we are paying those guys 5 € a month... I don't want to and I don't understand them, but I have to find a way to reduce the traffic. Since this GREAT PROVIDER hasn't heared anything about logs or so it is not possible to find out which part of the site creates most of the load. As you may have noticed, those guys are even not able to deactivate the directory listings. Well, quite strange company. I'll put some of the JS Code of the activeusers.php in a js-file which should reduce the traffic created by this users stuff quite a lot. I hope this will be enough for those guys to calm down a little bit... bye, Erik |

Hello the JS-stuff seems to work. This makes each transmission of the activeusers.php about 2 KB smaller; that's roughly half its original size. Calculating with 10 users permenantly online: 10 users * 2 times per minute * 60 minutes per hour * 24 ours a day * 30 days a month ==> 1,5 GBI hope that this is enough... bye, Erik |
